Phuket digital nomad guide

Where to work from in Phuket for more than a month: fibre, cafes, noise, visas in outline, and neighborhoods that are not only for a week.

October 7, 2026 · 8 min read

Phuket works for remote work when the apartment is quiet and the connection is real. It does not work as a string of hotel weeks if you are on calls.

Look for homes, not rooms, on the Phuket marketplace.

A work week, not a trip

You need a desk that is not the bed, a door that closes, and upload speeds that survive a rainstorm. Cafes are for the afternoon, not for the client call.

Neighborhoods with other longer-stay people are easier. You will find them in Rawai, Bang Tao, and parts of Kamala and Kata.

  • Fibre is common in new buildings and uneven in old villas.
  • Coworking exists and is optional.
  • Scooters make cafe-hopping easy and accidents common.
  • Rainy season is a fine time to sign a longer rate.
  • Time zone overlaps with Europe in the afternoon and with Australia in the morning.

Pros and cons

What works

  • Beach plus a real apartment is possible.
  • Food and gyms are sorted.
  • You can meet other remote workers without living in a party hostel.
  • Green-season rents are negotiable.

What to weigh

  • Visa categories change and are your responsibility.
  • Scooter crashes end more “nomad years” than bad wifi.
  • Holiday landlords want you out in December.
  • Power cuts happen. A laptop battery is not a plan for a full day.

What it tends to cost

CostTypical range
Monthly condo, longer stayTHB 20,000–55,000
Coworking, if you use itOften THB 3,000–8,000 / month
ScooterTHB 3,000–5,000 / month
Cafe daysEasy to overspend

Bands are typical asks, not offers. Confirm the figure for the specific home.

Bases that fit a laptop

Bang Tao, Rawai, Kamala, Kata. Skip a Bangla-facing room.

Day-to-day life

The trap is treating every day like a holiday. The people who last pick a gym and a finish time.

Social life is easy. Focus is the scarce resource.

Market notes

Owners prefer a yearly tenant to a series of nomads, and they price the series higher. If you can sign six or twelve months, say so.

How Voivera fits

Message the agency through the Phuket marketplace with your dates and “quiet unit, fibre required.”

Next step

Rent a home you can take a call in. Then check the visa you are actually on, from an official source.

Frequently asked questions

Yes if you choose a quiet unit with real fibre. It is a poor choice if you need client meetings in a central business district.
